17-year-old girl confined, raped by RPF uncle (Jawan)

Abuse and Crime by Army officers/Railway Protection Force is becoming rampant. We should take care of these Josef Fritzls right in our homes.

And prevent abuse of Position of Power and authority by anyone!

17-year-old girl confined, raped by Army uncle (Jawan)
19 September 2009
AHMEDABAD: A 17-year-old girl from Tamil Nadu has lodged a complaint against her uncle for confining her for three months and raping her over that period. Sabarmati police station officials have started search for the absconding Railway Police Force (RPF) jawan.

According to a complaint, she was called to Gujarat by her mother's sister for doing chores in the house. She then came to Rajkot in June to live with her aunt and uncle Sursingh Dhansukhbhai. Soon after, her uncle was transferred and they shifted to railway quarters at Sabarmati in Ahmedabad.

After some time, her aunt went to Tamil Nadu and asked the girl to stay back for cooking and daily chores. "During that period, her uncle made sexual advances and raped her. He also threatened her of dire consequences if she told anyone about the incident. The torture continued as her uncle would lock the house and go to work to prevent her from fleeing. After two months, when her aunt returned, the girl tried to tell her what had happened. However, she was scolded for defaming Sursingh," said a Sabarmati police station official.

The incident came to light when the girl was sent back to Tamil Nadu. She started living with another aunt for studies and realized she got pregnant in September. She then narrated the entire story to her family. Her family members came down to Ahmedabad and lodged a complaint against Sursingh on Thursday.

Your post title is totally misleading and it appears to be a malicious attempt at slandering the Indian Army.

Any sane, moderately intelligent person possessing even the slightest bit of understanding of logic and evaluation would deduce from reading the article that the perpetrator of the crime is Not serving in the Indian Army. The police force of the country comes under the jurisdiction of the Home ministry in India and not the Ministry of Defence, India.

In a country that is rife with issues that need urgent addressing, our country's Armed Forces is that one institution which has consistently and steadfastly upheld the highest of human qualities and the most impeccable moral standards.

Yet no efforts are spared by individuals having ulterior motives to denigrate and abuse this very institution that forms the very backbone of our country's existence and progress. Your blog appears to be run by one such individual

This distinction ought not to take away anything from the gravity and heniousness of the crime, who must and should receive the justice due to her.

However when reporting a matter, if one intends to retain journalistic credibility, one must report it authentically and objectively without fudging data, that you have so willfully done in this post - shameful

Thanks for the Comments, S.
You seem to be making an 'S' of statistics.
I have quoted the article from 'Times of India'.

The abuse of 'Position of Power and Position' is an issue which has been brought up by the US Govt, UN. This abuse of Position of Power is perpetrated by Doctors, Teachers, Police Officers, Military personnel, etc.
More later!

You don't have to hide behind an 'S' or a mask if you got the gumption!

Jai Hind!
