Father who had two children with his OWN DAUGHTER jailed for nine months in UK: British Fritzl 2
22nd December 2009

A man who fathered two children with his own daughter has been jailed for nine months.
The 43-year-old, who cannot be named, walked out on his family when his daughter was a baby.
She made contact with him in 2004 and they commenced a relationship, which became sexual after they moved in together in Leicester.
The daughter, now aged in her mid-twenties, gave birth to sons in 2006 and 2008, with doctors becoming suspicious when they both developed rare hereditary illnesses.
The father and daughter denied being in an incestuous sexual relationship, but the man was found guilty and jailed for 40 weeks at Leicester Crown Court.
She told the court it did not feel like she was having sex with her dad 'because we'd been apart for so long'.
But their kids both developed a rare form of jaundice and the second boy was admitted to hospital after becoming severely underweight.
Doctors performed DNA tests and alerted the police when they discovered they had been fathered by their granddad.
Judge Mark Rogers said on Monday: 'Some would regard these as revolting offences and the public may be surprised by the maximum term that Parliament permits.
'I accept the defendant is going to make a complete break, and a completely new start, to put things behind him.
'The offences are seriously aggravated by producing two children. Both have health problems, which the medical authorities will have to cope with.'
James House, defending, said: 'This man and his daughter were in a mutual consensual relationship. It's the Crown's case they were equally responsible.
'He wants to move away and start afresh. His intention upon his release is to leave the area and get away from all the family background.'
Sexual abuse expert Rasjidah St John today slammed the nine-month sentence.
Ms St John, from London's Information Service on Incest and Child Sexual Abuse, said: 'This is a very serious crime and the sentence handed out goes no way in reflecting that.
'The children may end up living their own life sentences of health problems yet the father who caused them will be free soon.
'People can be deeply traumatised and devastated for the rest of their lives if they discover they are incest survivors.
'The father has done this knowing full well that the consequences of his actions would cause problems for the children.
'He deserves to be imprisoned for a longer term in order to show that this cannot be allowed to continue.'
