Three quacks arrested in crackdown on bogus docs

RAJKOT: The Rapid Response Cell of Inspector General of Police, Rajkot Range, Praveen Sinha, has arrested three quacks in a crackdown on bogus doctors in Rajkot, Jamnagar and Surendranagar district. Interestingly, two of them are non-matriculate.
The IGP has appealed to people to come forward to report bogus doctors.
Purshottam Bachubhai, 52, a resident of Tankara town in Rajkot district, was raided and arrested by the special cell on Saturday. Allopathic medicines and cash was seized from his clinic. Police said that Purshottam, who has not even cleared high school, has been practising as a doctor for the last 20 years without any prescribed medical degree. He had worked in a hospital as compounder 20 years ago and then started his own practise in a small Tankara town in Rajkot district.
